Is anyone using the Renzulli Learning website program? What is it exactly? Can 2nd grade students work on their own? I need more information. My corporation has asked me to find a computer program to enhance the learning of our high abilty students. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Yes I’m using it with different classes – and yes Grade 2 students can use it. (As a tool for planning alone I find it worth while- I think every teacher would benefit from access to it, never mind the students!). Students find it highly motivating as each child can be ‘pushed’ different sites and assignments, on the same topic/subject or not, according to their interests and learning styles and abilities. My gifted students are lining up at the door and waiting, ready for “Renzulli Time”!
Check out the free tour etc at the Renzulli Learning site; and/or see my 7-min screencast about it on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDPHoCpG_Cw
Several of my 9-10-year-old students have videos on YouTube that they made from using Renzulli on genetics: my role was teaching them thinking and organisational skills, plus some software (we also learned heaps together!!). They worked independently and it was sometimes hard to stop them ‘working’!!
